Swirl finish concrete, while being less common in Calgary these days, is still a great option for creating a beautiful and slip-resistant surface, but being an economic alternative to exposed aggregate and stamped concrete, when you want a change from the more normal broom/brush finish.
The swirl pattern, or fan pattern, is created by moving a trowel in swirls or circles that overlap each other. The swirls can be made in varying sizes and depth depending on the aesthetic the customer prefers.
This pattern especially looks nice when you add a standard smooth borders around it, similar what you see on sidewalks with a brushed finish.
