Olive coloured ready-mix Concrete was a decently popular colour especially around the early 2000's but is still a suitable and often selected option, today.
While most commonly, olive coloured ready-mix concrete is used to help match up against homes with existing stucco from that time period, it is still an excellent option for a light-coloured walkway that pairs up well with natural greenery and low maintenance yards.
If using a natural, blended colour river stone, this colour will also help accent the lighter tones of that stone and works great as a border.
Olive coloured concrete is definitely better as a walkway or border than a larger pad but it is also often used to match up against balconies covered with a weatherproof membrane as similar colours have been used very commonly for this surface type on patios for decades.
Integral Ready Mix Concrete is superior to topical coatings because it is mixed evenly and completely throughout the concrete prior to it being poured.
This means that if there is a crack or cut to the concrete over time, that the natural concrete colour does not show through.
This helps protect the overall look of the concrete even if damage or chips occur over time.
